» Backplane Test Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Backplane Test Engineer to invent, develop, support and implement new procedures the testing of Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Active Matrix (AM) backplanes for use in OLED Displays.

MAIN DUTIES:
*Invention and design of new test equipment which is capable of testing TFT backplanes.
*Development of Test equipment to test TFT backplanes.
*Implement and perform tests on externally supplied backplanes.
*Develop novel test strategies for testing large numbers of TFTs.
*Design for Test implementation on new designs.
*Support of new backplane designs.
*Performance & reliability characterisation of backplanes.
*TFT Transistor characterisation.
*Specify & source new test equipment for testing AM TFT backplanes.
*Prepare and test Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and risk assessments (RA) for the testing of backplanes
*Design and support of new equipment for testing AM TFT backplanes.
*Identify and implement process improvement for new and existing test processes.
*Support the design for test implementation on new AM TFT backplanes.
*Characterisation of TFTs using Semiconductor Parameter Analyser (SPA).
*Perform reliability testing of AM TFT backplanes.
*Routine testing of AM TFT backplanes
*Failure analysis of failed displays and AM TFT backplanes

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:
*Degree in Electronic Engineering or relevant Physics / Science
*A minimum of 2 years direct experience in semiconductor testing or display testing.
*Experience of semiconductor wafer testing.
*Use of Wafer probe equipment & Semiconductor Parameter Analysers
*Basic understanding of Thin Film Transistors (TFT) backplanes.
*Strong electronics knowledge.
*Customer focussed, self motivated team player with the ability to operate in a multi disciplinary/cross functional team environment.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Flexible - able to adapt to changing project plans and company direction.
*Sound problem solving and Failure Analysis skills.
*Computer literacy is essential.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE:
*Knowledge of Active Matrix TFT Backplane & related circuits
*Knowledge of OLED displays and fabrication
*Understanding of reliability testing.
