» Senior Scientist - Ink & Device Development

The client is looking improve the performance of (P-OLED) printing inks by designing and preparing new formulations to high quality standards. These inks should be stable and printable, giving uniform displays with specified efficiency and lifetime.

The post is to investigate device processing parameters in order to maximise display panel performance and, to provide technical leadership and organisation of more junior members of staff.


KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Essential
BSc, MSC or PhD in organic chemistry.
5 - 10 years industrial experience in ink formulation role (preferably ink jet) to senior/principal technical level or line management level.
Skilled in the art of ink formulation for PLED or industrial or graphics or electronics ink jet printing applications.

Creative innovator with proven experience in IP Generation.
Customer focussed, self motivated team player with the ability to operate in a multi disciplinary/cross functional team environment.
Proven initiative and leadership skills.

Excellent communication skills. Flexible - able to adapt to changing project plans and company direction. Strong focus on workplace and environment safety.
Excellent track record in safe working in hazardous laboratory environments.

Proficient in the use of research grade test equipment including rheometry, drop shape analysis, white light interferometry, jetting evaluation rigs, precision ink jet printers, optical microscopy and TGA.

Desirable
Knowledge of semiconductor device fabrication processes and thin film analysis.
Knowledge of polymer physical properties/structure relationships.
